"Come what may, and love it!......Yet in spite of discouragement and adversity, those who are happiest seem to have a way of learning from difficult times, becoming stronger, wiser, and happier as a result." ~ Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

Yummy cookies. We had a little St. Patrick's Day party with our friends the Nazelrods. We had a green dinner and decorated cookies. It was tons of fun.

Tummy time

Well our internet isn't working again. STINK! So, I'm at Heath's studio for a minute so I can post some cute pictures of my babies. Here's Asher getting a little exercise and he is starting to smile which is the cutest thing. He tries so hard to talk but it's just not working out for him.

It's either a miracle or a miracle. An update on Asher.

I think it's a miracle. Well, yesterday was the big day for baby Asher. He had his doctor's appointment at Shriner's. The doctor there said Asher has a brachial plexus injury. The brachial plexus is a complex network of interconnecting nerves that innervate the arm from the shoulder to the hand. This is why he is unable to move his arm thoughout it's full range. The doctor said it has a good chance of resolving on it's own and he should gain full mobility. We also saw an occupational therapist yesterday who gave us some exercises to do with Asher. I'm thankful that I have been trained in physical therapy so I can do all his therapy at home and we don't have to make any additonal appointments. The doctor said there are NO problems with his bones. NOTHING is underdeveloped in his shoulder. I just want to thank everyone again for fasting and praying. I'm so grateful! We feel so blessed and we love you all.

A day of fasting and prayer for baby Asher

I just wanted to tell all our family and close friends how much it means to us that you are thinking of us today. We asked lots of you to fast with us and we received phone calls and emails from others letting us know that they had heard and were fasting for baby Asher too. We feel so blessed and grateful. For those that may not know and are wondering, Asher has underdeveloped bones in his right shoulder and is unable to move the right arm through it's full range of motion. We have a doctor's appointment at Shriner's this Wednesday to help further diagnose the problem. He is in no pain which we are grateful for and is growing like a weed (just look at those cheeks!). We will keep you all updated as best we can when we find out more information. We love you all and know that miracles have not ceased.

A quick shave before church!

Noah likes to sit on the bathroom counter while Heath is in the bathroom getting ready for church. Noah sees daddy shaving and wants to shave too. They are too cute.

On this date in 2004...

Well, today is our 5th anniversary. I can't believe it's been 5 years. Yep, it rained in St. George the day we got married (in the desert). Here are some wedding pictures and fun times along the way.

ASHER MAX

Well, somebody got me hooked on facebook so I have been ignoring my blog a little. SORRY! Here are some pictures from Asher's latest photo shoot. I don't take the best pictures but I'd like to someday but he's a cutie pie either way. Asher was born Monday, January 26th by emergency c-section. His heart rate kept dropping during contractions and at one point it didn't go back up as quickly as they were hoping. The doctor came in and said it's possible that they might have to do a c-section. 5 min later he came back in with an entire team of worker bees who made me drink some terrible tasting thing, put on a silly blue hat, and say bye to my husband. It was as bad as you are imagining. Just minutes later we had a baby. His cord was around his neck so this saved the kids life. Talk about pain... My epidural wasn't working on the right side so they had to put me under. when i woke I was in terrible pain and the nurse had the nerve to press on my stomach. OUCH!!! Asher was 7 lbs 7 ounces, 21 1/2 inches and as cute as a button. He was jaundice so we were sent home with some lights to string around his abdomen. Now we are at home resting comfortably.

A little update

Well, Heath had a good birthday. I think! :) With his favorite cookies, birthday wishes from friends and family, and no surprise party. He told me he really, really didn't want a surprise. Well, me being big with child decided that I was ok with that. I'll be going into the hospital tomorrow (yep Sunday) at 4pm to get the induction process started. So, hopefully he'll be here by Monday and I'll be home by Tuesday. That's what I'm hoping for anyway. I'll post picture ASAP. My mom, dad, sister and her two kids are getting into town this evening. Then Heath's mom will be here the following week. I really have it made. I'm really blessed what can I say.

1 week 3 days

Well, it's official. I'm being induced January 26th 6:30 am. Thank goodness! I've been having contractions, all kinds of pain, I'm nauseated, and some other things that a girl just shouldn't share on a blog. So, as of today 1 week and 3 days to go. This morning the temperature was 6 below. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrr, so cold! Heath's birthday is next Tuesday. I'm hoping I will feel up to another post. If not, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the guy I love and adore.

The sweater

The sweater that Noah is wearing was Heath's when he was a young pup. Heath's Grandma Papa made it and it finally fits Noah. My two cute boys! 3 more weeks and I'll have 3.
