"Come what may, and love it!......Yet in spite of discouragement and adversity, those who are happiest seem to have a way of learning from difficult times, becoming stronger, wiser, and happier as a result." ~ Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

Oh garden blessings

Yesterday we worked in the garden. I was excited to harvest. We pulled a few things but I couldn't wait to taste the heirloom purple carrots. To my surprise they were terrible. :-(
Hannah loves to harvest. She picked an unripe tomato and an unripe watermelon. She better be glad she is so cute. She also fed the chickens from a bucket. I watched her from afar and I'm pretty sure that's what the good life looks like.
I think Heath gets the most excited about harvest time. You should see his face!
Asher has a watermelon patch. He likes to work in the garden, unlike Noah who doesn't enjoy the heat or working in the garden but would rather play video games . Teaching that boy to work just might be one of our biggest challenge.s. In his defense it was about 115 yesterday.

Asher threw up twice last night and Noah had diarrhea this morning. We didn't go to church. They wanted to paint eggs so we did. I think it was inspired by The Rise of the Gardians movie. (The Easter bunny part)

Sitting in line at the bank

Asher: can we have a ninja baby?
Me: I think so.
Asher: no, you have to ask Jesus.
Noah (from the back seat): Heavenly Father, please let us have a ninja baby. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

No I'm not pregnant...but the order is in :)

His name is Simeon and this is his weird.

Simeon is 6 and wanted to be part of the "What's your weird" series. He can do a belly super suck in.

Matt's weird?

My brother, Matt, is funny, he's a teaser, his armpits smell like a double whopper with extra onions, he's got a metal rod in his back, he's married to a cute girl and has 4 kids. Oh and did I mention he's bald? You decide which one of these is his weird.

That's his daughter's hair.

Genesis in the "What's Your Weird?" Series.

Genesis is my niece. Her weird is that she can almost touch her shoulders together in front of her body.

Washington state or bust!

We (me and the kids) are on our way to Washington state along with my sister and her husband and 5 kids and my mom. Our mode of transportation? My sisters Mercedes Sprinter. Oh, yes, it holds all 12 of us. Our activities have included sleeping, balloons, glow sticks, window markers (with a little pictionary game), DVD watching, a little crying, color, drawing, stickers, and eating.

My kids are doing surprisingly well. Answered prayers!

My blog: a new series..."What's your weird?"

I'm going to start asking people what's "different" about them and taking pictures. My brother-in-law is the first in the series.

His name is Sam and this is his weird...

He can stick his arm down his throat...just kidding
He was born with only half an arm.

The first tooth.

Noah has had a loose tooth forever! Uncle Dan told him that if he could pull it he would give Noah a dollar. Noah told him he could have one pull. Aaaaaaand that's all it took. I was so nervous.

Because she makes me laugh out loud

The BEST bread recipe in the world!

So, if you know me you might know that I like to bake from scrach. (If you don't know what that is, perhaps I can explain it later...smiley winky face)
I'm always looking for the perfect recipe and tweaking recipes. I have probably tried 100 bread recipes (ok realistically 25 ish) but this is it. It's 100% whole wheat and 100% fluffy and yummy. Even my husband asked me to make it again.
It will have you white bread eaters converted over in no time!
Ok, HEREit is!
We also made donuts and pizza with it.
