"Come what may, and love it!......Yet in spite of discouragement and adversity, those who are happiest seem to have a way of learning from difficult times, becoming stronger, wiser, and happier as a result." ~ Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

Haircut

Heath and I are really watching our budget and really trying to pinch our pennies. We have agreed to discuss every purchase. Well, I like my hair short and It usually cost anywhere from $20 to $30 to get my hair cut and in order for me to feel good about it I like to get it cut every 2 to 3 months.  It's been about 5 months. Heath said he would cut it today when we got home from stake conference. Yes, I trust him enough and plus it grows back. Well, he got it wet and combed it and then chickened out. I ended up cutting it myself.  Heath helped in the back a little. I thought it turned out pretty well for my first time. Now that I know I can do it, I can get a hair cut anytime I want and for free.

Heath teaching Noah how to read on the potty. ;o)

Noah calls any tall building the Tower of Pisa.
He calls ladybugs babybugs.
He starts preschool this week.
When he wants me to pick him up he says, "hold you?"

Heath spoke at stake conference last night and did a great job.  He always does. It's true that our house is being invaded by babybugs. Also true that Heath slept in his suit last night.

Check out my savings!

Just the formula alone (4 large cans of Enfamil) would have been about $100.

Spent: $103.03
Saved: $101.36
and had a coupon for $3 off my next shopping trip.

This is what Heath is doing while I'm blogging. :) I love you sugar pie. It's true that Heath is using Noah's blanket and Asher's boppy pillow to snuggle up on the couch (My shopping receipts in hand. He must be proud...or is he keeping track of my spending?) . Also true that he was really, really tired and had a headache.

Make your own laundry soap ($.03 a load)

Here's how to make your own laundry soap for as little as $.03 per load (depending on how much you pay for soap). Don't forget to use coupons.

RECIPE
***************************************
2 Cups finely shredded bar soap (about one 4.5oz bar) I use Ivory
1 Cup Arm & Hammer Super washing soda
1 Cup 20 Mule Team Borax

Each batch makes 4 cups laundry detergent and cost approx. $.95 to $1.00 to make. Use 2 Tablespoons per load and you'll get 32 loads per batch. I just made 6 batches so I won't have to do it for a while. Works great, try it! The time is worth the savings.

Puttin' on the ounces!

Things are finally calming down around here a little bit. Asher is starting to eat 5 to 5 1/2 ounces per feeding and he pooped today on his own for the first time in about 2 weeks (no suppository required). He is throwing up way less and when he does throw up it's not as terrible. He weighed in last week at 12 pounds 10 ounces (a 2 ounce gain from the week before). Puttin' on the ounces! My little baby is 6 months now. I can't believe it. Also, I had some pain in my eyes last week (an inflammation of the muscles behind my eyes) which is resolved now after seeing the eye doctor and getting some drops. Trials are WAY better in hind site. It's hard for me to keep up with Noah's new words. He has really just taken off.
So, we bought a soft serve ice cream machine at a yard sale for $5. Below are some pictures of our first time using. it. We also went to a tractor show that Noah loved. They had some big steam tractors and Noah couldn't wait to get to those. He was "choo choo" ing all the way. Well, I have a crying baby in the other room so better end this. Just want to say that my husband is a good man. I had a doctors appt this morning and when I came home he had the boys dressed and the dishes done. Also, I have a new friend. I'll tell you all about it later. Also, I'm back into my emergency preparedness and am excited about canning vegetable from the garden and other things too. a end! (that's how Noah says "the end")

Makes you wanna get a soft serve ice cream maker , eh?
